Education
Education has always been a top priority for Aaron Wright, both as a father of four and as a community leader. Two of Aaron and his wife Erin’s children have already graduated from Cecil County Public Schools, while their younger two—ages 12 and 8—are currently enrolled. Erin herself is also a proud graduate of Cecil County Public Schools, making this commitment deeply personal for their family. For Aaron, the future of Cecil County begins with the education we provide our children today.
Aaron believes every child deserves a strong foundation for their future through a high-quality education. That means we need a strong and nurturing family dynamic and raising performance and achievement scores across the county so students are not just graduating, but graduating prepared for success in college, careers, or trades. It also means making sure every classroom is led by compassionate, well-supported teachers who are given the resources, respect, and professional development they need to succeed. Strong schools start with strong teachers, and Aaron is committed to ensuring that those who dedicate their lives to educating our children are valued and empowered.
Cecil County also faces unique challenges. Data shows that our community has a higher rate of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) than both the state and national averages. These numbers highlight the urgent need for safe and healthy home and nurturing schools where children feel safe and supported. Aaron understands that for many students, a teacher may be the most consistent and caring mentor in their lives. That makes it all the more important to provide healthy environments where learning can be fostered and where the emotional, social, and academic needs of students are all addressed together.
For Aaron, improving education isn’t just a talking point—it’s about building a brighter, safer, and stronger future for his own children, for the children of Cecil County, and for generations to come.
Public Safety
Public Safety is one of Aaron Wright’s top priorities because it touches every family, every neighborhood, and every future in Cecil County. For Aaron, this commitment is personal. As someone who has walked his own recovery journey, Aaron knows firsthand that hope is possible, change is possible, and with the right support anyone can become extraordinary when given the chance. He also knows that recovery and second chances are only possible when our communities feel safe, respected, and supported.
As a father raising four children here, Aaron is dedicated to building a Cecil County where kids can grow up in neighborhoods free from violence, crime, and addiction. Two of his children have already graduated from Cecil County Public Schools, and his younger two are currently enrolled—making the safety and security of schools, parks, and community spaces a deeply personal issue for his family. Parents deserve the peace of mind that their children are protected, and children deserve the freedom to dream and thrive without fear.
Aaron believes in investing and empowering people to rebuild their lives must go hand in hand with backing our First Responders, Police Officers, Firefighters, EMTs, and other front-line workers that put their lives on the line every day for our safety and wellbeing. They need the tools, training, and resources to do their jobs effectively. By strengthening partnerships between public safety, schools, and community organizations, Aaron envisions a county where prevention, compassion, and accountability work together.
His vision is clear: a safer Cecil County where families can prosper, children can grow, and everyone—no matter their past—has the opportunity to build a better future and help send Cecil County into a prosperous future!
Economic Growth
Economic Growth is essential to securing a strong and stable future for Cecil County. Aaron Wright believes that when local businesses succeed, families succeed, and the entire community benefits. As a father of four raising his children here, Aaron understands the importance of creating opportunities that will keep future generations living, working, and raising their own families in Cecil County rather than looking elsewhere for success. Economic growth is not just about creating jobs—it’s about building careers that provide stability, fair wages, and pathways to advancement.
Aaron is committed to supporting small businesses, encouraging responsible development, and strengthening the partnerships that help our local economy thrive. He believes that when the county grows responsibly, it not only creates opportunity but also strengthens our tax base—helping to reduce the tax burden on working families. A stronger economy means local government can better fund schools, public safety, and community services without putting added strain on taxpayers.
By investing in economic opportunity, Cecil County can provide the resources needed to improve education, expand services, and support law enforcement while keeping taxes fair and manageable for hardworking families. For Aaron, this is about more than numbers on a chart—it’s about building a future where families can prosper, children have opportunities close to home, and residents see the direct benefit of economic growth through a lighter tax burden and a stronger quality of life.
